ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management – Lead Auditor
Overview
A professional programme for those who plan, lead and report management-system audits against ISO/IEC 17025:2017. It follows the audit principles of ISO 19011 and covers the full audit cycle — from planning and opening meeting to findings, nonconformity grading, reporting and follow-up — through realistic case work and role play.
The standard
About the standard
ISO/IEC 17025:2017
Testing and Calibration Laboratories
Lays out the operating requirements that testing and calibration laboratories must meet to demonstrate they are technically competent, impartial and capable of producing consistent results. It covers staff competence, equipment, methods, sampling, measurement traceability and quality-control processes, and forms the technical basis on which accreditation bodies assess and accredit laboratories worldwide. By harmonizing these requirements internationally, it lets test and calibration reports issued in one country be trusted elsewhere without repeat testing.
Key objectives
- Define competence, impartiality and consistency requirements for testing and calibration labs
- Serve as the technical basis for laboratory accreditation worldwide
- Ensure reliability and comparability of test and calibration results across borders
- Reduce duplicate testing by enabling mutual recognition of laboratory results
- Align laboratory quality processes with the structure used by other management standards
Who uses it
Testing and calibration laboratories seeking to demonstrate competence.
