Artificial Intelligence Management System
ISO's first management-system standard built specifically for artificial intelligence, setting out what an organization needs to establish, run and keep improving an AI management system. It is written for any organization, of any size or sector, that develops, supplies or simply uses AI-driven products or services, following the same plan-do-check-act cycle used across other ISO management standards. Rather than dictating how a given AI model should work, it targets the policies, processes and controls an organization puts around its AI activities.
Key objectives
- Give organizations a structured way to govern AI systems they develop, provide or use
- Tie AI risk assessment to concrete, accountable treatment actions
- Make AI-related processes easier to explain, trace and depend on
- Help organizations show alignment with emerging AI laws and regulations
- Build stakeholder trust in how an organization governs its use of AI
Who uses it
Organizations developing, providing, or using AI systems.
Contribution to the SDGs
